Let me add a remembrance for the US 7th Army Symphony that existed for about ten years as a State Dept. propaganda unit selling our culture to post-WW II Europe. Some of us were lucky enough as young musicians to play concerts in Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Salzburg, Rome, etc. rather than carrying rifles in Korea.
