I’m en route to Jackson Hole, WY today for my annual working vacation at the Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF). A truly lovely destination, the Grand Teton National Park is an ideal backdrop for one of the best summer music festivals in the country.
But just because I’m away, that doesn’t mean blog posts will take a hiatus. In addition to my own regular posts, you can look forward to some guest authors as well.
In the meantime, drop by the GTMF website to check out their concert schedule or listen to clips from upcoming concerts. There’s even a nice video from the 2011 season (bottom left) that features Neo Classical author and GTMF violinist Holly Mulcahy performing Jennifer Higdon’s Piano Trio (which begins at the 3:24 mark) that includes interviews with the composer.

While on vacation sometime back in the 90s, we discovered the GTMF totally by accident (we were camping just a few miles away). What a site! What outstanding music-making: the concert we attended included all of the Chopin Preludes and the Brahms F-minor piano quintet. A place to which I need to return. Don’t work too hard on your vacation.
