Just a quick blurb today as I’m still getting caught up after my recent business trip to Chattanooga, but it’s worth noting that St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) is now among the ranks of orchestras searching for a new CEO following the news that their current CEO is leaving the orchestra field for academia.
The Baltimore Business Journal published an article by Joanna Sullivan that reports Fred Bronstein will be officially taking over as the new Dean of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University on June 1, 2014.
He’ll be leaving the SLSO in mid-May which is a comparatively quick exodus and there’s no official word yet whether the orchestra plans to appoint an official interim CEO while conducting a search. All things being equal, that should be known by no later than the beginning of next week.

Given the uncertain nature of the subject field I have a feeling this story is just beginning, which undoubtedly means you’ll be updating soon.
